Program Associate, Immigration Advocates Network - Pro Bono Net

The Immigration Advocates Network (www.immigrationadvocates.org), an innovative collaboration between 11 leading immigration advocacy and legal support providers and Pro Bono Net, seeks a highly motivated candidate to join our team. This position will provide day-to-day support for web-based projects that serve a range of audiences, including nonprofit immigration advocates, pro bono attorneys, and low-income immigrants. The Program Associate will be an employee of Pro Bono Net and based in New York City.

Responsibilities

National Directory Project

  • Assist with the development and support of a new online directory of nonprofit immigration legal services providers
  • Work with IAN partners and nonprofit immigration legal services programs to ensure thatthe directory data is up-to-date

Content Coordination

  • Work with IAN staff and partners to research and post immigration-related content, including news, trainings/events, practice alerts, and substantive materials on immigration law and policy
  • Assist IAN staff with the development of web-based multimedia, including podcasts, videos, and webinars

Outreach and Member Support

  • Work with IAN staff to support marketing and outreach to new members
  • Help to coordinate e-communication vehicles, including monthly calendars, weekly email updates, and a quarterly e-newsletter
  • Support social networking initiatives
  • Review and approve new members
  • Provide regular customer support to members
  • Compile and analyze Web usage statistics and other evaluation data

Project Administration/Support

  • Support project administration, including taking minutes during partner and committee calls and coordinating logistics for a yearly convening of our partners
  • Support IAN staff with fundraising activities, including research and data collection for grant proposals and reports to funders
  • Coordinate and support other activities and projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience required;
  • Strong self-motivation and initiative required;
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing needs required;
  • Demonstrated interest in social justice issues required; strong interest and/or experience in immigrants’ rights preferred;
  • Breadth of knowledge of and interest in web-based tools and standards such as HTML, Content Management Systems, online multimedia (podcasts, video, etc.), RSS and social media, as well as an interest in emerging web technology preferred;
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with people and coordinate team projects required;
  • Demonstrated multi-tasking and prioritization skills required;
  • Proficiency in Spanish preferred;
  • Sense of humor required.
