Salary: $36,700 to $41,000

Position:
Managing the American Bar Association Military Pro Bono Project, a high-visiblity program connecting active duty servicemembers with pro bono counsel around the country.

Description:
Position involves substantive legal work, close collaboration with legal assistance leadership of the five service branches and a dedicated military liaison officer, national outreach to lawyers and law firms to handle pro bono cases, and management of web-based intake and referral platform.

Includes legal research, writing, speaking, provision of technical assistance, and grant development and/or fundraising. Will be supervised by another attorney and may supervise more junior attorneys and/or other staff.

Education:
Doctoral Degree (JD, PhD)

Experience:
JD and admission to the bar in at least one jurisdiction. At least 4 years working in relevant specialized areas of law, particularly family law. Strong background in working with pro bono/civil legal services delivery systems, with military legal service desirable. High level of computer and online technical expertise, including website management and social media use. Also high level of skills in legal writing and research, oral and written communications, and organizational ability. Substantial experience in policy analysis.
